Chocolate Chip Cookies

Everyone has their favorite chocolate chip cookie.  Some like it thin and crispy, others like it soft and fluffy.  It doesn't really matter as long as I get to eat it, preferably warm out of the oven and, if I'm feeling indulgent, with some vanilla ice cream.  So now that you're drooling, quickly whip up a batch of these gems!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Makes 12-15 large cookies

Ingredients:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons Dutch processed baking cocoa
8 oz semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

1.  Preheat the oven to 350ºF.

2. Cream the butter with sugars until fluffy.  Beat in egg and vanilla.

3. Combine dry ingredients, and beat into butter mixture.  Stir in the chocolate chips.

4. Drop by large spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.  Bake 12-14 minutes.
