Pesto Knots

I love little garlic knots or breadsticks at Italian restaurants and wanted to recreate them at home.  A lot of places just use pizza dough, so that's what I did.  Making your own pesto is a breeze as well.  Presto, a perfect little side for soup or pasta!

Pesto Knots

Makes about 24 knots
Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

1 batch of pizza dough
1/2 cup basil pesto

Directions:

1.  Preheat the oven to 350ºF.  Line two rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper.

2.  On a lightly floured surface, divide the pizza dough into roughly equal pieces.  For each piece, roll into a long log shape, then tie into a knot.

3.  Arrange the knots onto the baking sheets.  Brush each knot with pesto.  Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the knots are lightly golden.  Serve warm.
