Considering that probably only my family and a few friends will even look at this, I don't feel too pressured to sound crazy cool on this thing. So here it goes.
The purpose of this blog is very straightforward. I love food (who doesn't?), and I love cooking. I spend a not insignificant portion of my free time thinking about food, whether I'm browsing recipes on Pinterest, searching for new restaurants, or wandering through the grocery store. The thing is, free time is a precious commodity when you are in medical school. There are always ten things that I should be doing, and yet I seem to accomplish only two or three. In all of the craziness, it would be easy to raid the frozen section of the grocery store or to eat out every night. Instead, I make myself take the time to cook. It isn't fancy or complicated. It doesn't take hours of my time. I take the time to cook because I find joy in it, a sense of calm in the midst of chaos. Frankly it's exciting to sit down and eat a meal that I made myself. They don't always turn out, and leftovers can get a little tiresome, but at least I accomplished one small task. Cooking can be fun and easy with a little planning and effort. Delicious food awaits!
